The Anki Overdrive replacement battery fits into Anki Overdrive cars and replaces the original battery. With a total of 100mAh this battery also has ~30% more capacity than the battery originally built into the cars.
Anki Overdrive Replacement Battery Instructions
Tools required: soldering iron with a thin tip, some solder, sponge, a blade and a Phillips screw driverOpen the car with the screw driver. Remove only the one screw close to the optical sensor.Lift the car body from chassis. Put the screw aside to a safe place. Blow the dust inside the car off.
Use a thin blade to carefully lift the green PCB over the black latches
Carefully flip the PCB over. Be careful not to damage the four red and black wires.
Carefully heat the solder blob where the battery is connected to the PCB. Make sure that the wires touch neither each other nor other components on the PCB!
Now solder the new battery to the PCB: the red wire is connected to the pad with the “+” sign, the black wire to the pad with the “-” sign. You will notice the new battery is slightly thicker, but fits nicely.
Now carefully put the battery back in place and flip the PCB to close the chassis. Test the proper connection of the battery by pressing the gray button underneath the car. The green LED in the center of the PCB should light up. Put the body back in place and fasten the screw that holds it.
Have fun with IoT
