This Buck-Boost converter break-out board is the perfect companion for your ESP32 or ESP8266 project. It is based on the Texas Instruments TPS63031 chip and can convert input voltages between 1.8V to 5.5V into an output voltage of 3.3V to power your ESP32 or ESP8266 with an efficiency of up to 96%! In step down mode (VIN = 3.6-5.5V) it can provide a current of 800mA. In boost mode (VIN > 2.4V) the current can reach 500mA.
In the design of the board, we wanted to give you all the freedom for integration into your own project. Which is why we made the EN (enable) pin accessible as a pin-out as well as a solder bridge pad. You can also decide if you want to enable the power-save mode with a solder pad.

The board has two pads:
- EN pad enables the board. Without setting the EN pad or pin to high the board will be disabled
- PW/S controls the power-save mode. By setting this pin to low the power save mode is enabled at light load. Connecting the pin with high disables power-save mode
Run your ESP8266/ESP32 project form two AA(A) batteries with high efficiency. Running your IoT project with a LiPo is not always the best option. AA batteries are cheap, ubiquitous and easily replaceable. The TPS63031 can squeeze out much of the energy stored in the AA cells, since it can still provide enough energy even if the two AA cells are nearly empty.
